A Redefined Entry-Level Mercedes

2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA first look: More than just an entry-level car, it makes a bold statement with innovation and advanced tech. The CLA features a futuristic design, state-of-the-art technology, and both electric and hybrid drivetrains, making it ready for the future.

The First of the New Generation

The CLA kicks off a new series that will include a Europe-exclusive wagon, two SUVs, and the next-generation GLA and GLB, all built on the Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA).Unlike previous EVs, Mercedes is dropping the “EQ” badge, referring to the CLA EV simply as CLA with EQ Technology.

Electrification Meets Performance

Mercedes is leading with an electric CLA, followed by a hybrid variant.

• CLA EV: This vehicle boasts remarkable efficiency thanks to a 268-hp rear-mounted motor and a two-speed transmission. The AWD variant boosts output to 349 horsepower by adding a 107-hp front motor. It has an estimated 350-mile range (EPA) with an 85-kWh battery. In ten minutes, fast charging can cover 186 miles.
• The CLA Hybrid produces 188 horsepower and 27 horsepower from the electric motor. It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 48V mild hybrid system. It has a 62 mph electric driving range.

Aerodynamics and Sleek Design

A larger wheelbase, a muscular front end, and illuminated Mercedes star patterns on the grille and taillights are some of the CLA’s features. It is among the most aerodynamic vehicles on the road, with a drag coefficient of only 0.21.

Interior Tech-Forward

A Mercedes Superscreen with a 14.0-inch infotainment screen and an optional passenger screen is included within the CLA. Nvidia-powered AI-driven MBUX software integrates Dolby Atmos sound and customizes settings and navigation.

The Future of Mercedes-Benz

The 2026 CLA is the first Mercedes model with the new MB.OS software, setting the stage for the brand’s largest product offensive. With cutting-edge tech, hybrid and electric powertrains, and a striking new look, the CLA is redefining what an entry-level Mercedes can be.
