Chef Britt Rescigno Tournament of Champions
Chef Britt Rescigno Tournament of Champions: Rescigno claims a spot in the final four with her creative cooking and competitive spirit.
In Sunday night’s episode, Rescigno defeated Chef Kaleena Bliss in a fast-paced round. The chefs were challenged to use Filipino pork sausage (longganisa), avocado, beef oyster steak, and a pizzelle press to create a “fruity and nutty” dish in just 40 minutes.
The judges—Michael Symon, Cat Cora, and Ming Tsai—gave Rescigno’s dish 88 out of 100 points, edging out Bliss’s 85. Her winning plate featured a farrotto, a risotto-style farro, with seared beef. It also included a frisée salad with grilled avocado vinaigrette and a savory pizzelle cooked in sausage fat.
“This is the whole new Chef Britt: getting married, my first restaurant,” she said during the episode. “I have space for one more thing and that’s ‘TOC’ champ.”
The New Jersey-born chef, who recently opened Fiamma, an Italian restaurant in Idaho with her wife, Chef Kinsey Leodler, is no stranger to the spotlight. This marks her third run to the final rounds of the bracket-style competition, which began with 32 top chefs.
In previous seasons, Rescigno defeated culinary powerhouses including Tiffani Faison, Jose Garces, Jonathon Sawyer, and Amanda Freitag. However, she lost twice to Maneet Chauhan.
With a $150,000 prize on the line, fans will see if Rescigno can claim the “Tournament of Champions” title. The finale airs Sunday, April 20 at 8 p.m. on Food Network.
