Employee pricing discount slashes costs on Stellantis vehicles

employee pricing discount

Employee pricing discount hits Stellantis showrooms as the automaker quickly answers Ford’s headline-making move. Starting April 4, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram are offering employee pricing discounts to all customers — a rare move that slashes prices to below invoice levels.

This major discount push follows the April 2 rollout of President Trump’s vehicle and auto part tariffs, a policy shift expected to dramatically raise car prices in the coming months.

Why Now?

Although tariffs are projected to increase vehicle prices by $4,000 to $12,000, Ford and Stellantis are using this window before prices rise to boost showroom traffic and clear existing inventory.

Since current dealer stock predates the tariffs, automakers are hoping to offload vehicles before costlier production ramps up. Deep discounts now help reduce overstock and may soften the blow of rising manufacturing costs down the line.

Stellantis’ Plan Details

  • Effective: April 4–April 30
  • Applies to: Most 2024 and 2025 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram models
  • Excludes: Jeep Rubicon 392 and Ram 1500 RHO
  • Choice: Customers can pick between employee pricing or current cash incentives

A Stellantis spokesperson said:

“We launched aggressive incentive and marketing support… giving customers ‘America’s Freedom of Choice’ between Employee Price or current incentives.”

Ford’s Campaign: “From America, For America”

Ford began offering similar deals on April 3. Their plan runs until June 2 and applies to nearly all models, except for Raptor trucks, Super Duty pickups, the new Expedition and Navigator, and specialty Mustangs.

Ford builds 80% of its vehicles in the U.S., giving it a better buffer against the initial shock of the tariffs.

Tariffs Could Disrupt the Entire Auto Market

A 25% tariff on vehicle parts begins May 3, affecting everything from engines to airbags and windshields to wheels. Manufacturers are already planning temporary plant shutdowns:

  • Stellantis U.S.: ~900 workers laid off
  • Canada: Windsor plant halting production of Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Charger Daytona
  • Mexico: Jeep Compass, Ram trucks, and Wagoneer S electric SUV plants closed through April

Employee pricing discount offers arrive just in time, as rising vehicle and parts costs loom on the horizon.
