RWD Cybertruck Long Range: $72K, Longer Range
RWD Cybertruck Long Range: Tesla unveils the 2025 RWD Cybertruck Long Range at $72,235, its most affordable model yet. While it’s $10,000 cheaper than the dual-motor AWD model, buyers will need to accept major sacrifices in performance, features, and capability.
What You Get (and What You Don’t)
The new rear-wheel-drive Cybertruck boasts an EPA-estimated 362 miles of range, which edges out other models, thanks to its reduced weight and the lack of a front motor. It can charge faster than other versions, gaining 147 miles in just 15 minutes on a Supercharger.
However, the lower cost means significant feature cuts:
- No All-Wheel Drive
- 0–60 mph in 6.2 seconds (vs. 3.7 in AWD)
- Towing capacity: 7,500 lbs (down from 11,000 lbs)
- No adaptive air suspension
- No power tonneau cover, no in-bed power outlets
- Cloth seats only, with no rear heating or ventilation
- Stereo downgraded from 15 to 7 speakers
- No HEPA filter or rear touchscreen
You’ll also need to buy a $750 soft tonneau cover separately to hit the full 362-mile range. Larger wheels? That cuts the range to just 331 miles.
Less Truck, More Compromise
While it’s the most affordable Cybertruck yet, the RWD Long Range model removes nearly every premium feature found in other trims. From fewer lights to missing outlets and downgraded suspension, this version is a stripped-down EV truck.
The interior takes hits too—no “premium” console, no active noise cancelling, and cloth-only seating. Tesla even removed shiny pedal covers and cut back on lighting upgrades.
Is It Worth It?
Tesla once teased a sub-$40,000 Cyber truck. This new release shows that’s likely never happening. To get this model near $70K, nearly everything “extra” had to go. For those seeking performance, tech, or capability, the cost savings may not be worth the compromise.
