2026 Toyota RAV4 hybrid debuts with bold new style
2026 Toyota RAV4 hybrid gets a full makeover as America’s best-selling SUV. The 2026 Toyota RAV4 enters its sixth generation with fresh styling, upgraded tech, and one major change: It’s now hybrid only.
Bold New Looks for All
A boxy design replaces the previous curves. The look now leans closer to the Toyota Land Cruiser than the sleek Prius. The front gets split headlights and paint-matched grilles. The rear has LED taillights and “RAV4” stamped boldly across the tailgate.
Buyers can choose from three style groups:
- Core: Clean and classic (LE, XLE, Limited)
- Sport: Aggressive and athletic (SE, XSE, GR Sport)
- Rugged: Adventure-ready (Woodland)
Each has unique styling cues inside and out.
Hybrid Power for Everyone
All 2026 RAV4s come with either a traditional hybrid or a plug-in hybrid. The gas-only option is gone.
The regular hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter engine with electric power to make:
- 226 hp (FWD)
- 236 hp (AWD)
The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions go further. With up to 320 hp and 50 miles of EV-only range, they offer power and efficiency. Charging gets faster too, with DC fast charging available on some trims.
Trim Highlights
- GR Sport: Exclusive to plug-in. Sporty design, red stitching, 20-inch wheels.
- Woodland: Off-road focused. All-terrain tires, roof rack, and rugged styling.
- Limited: Premium touches with larger screens and faux leather.
All models use the TNGA-K platform, but the 2026 version has been stiffened for a smoother ride.
Interior Tech and Versatility
Inside, the RAV4 gets a modern, tech-focused cabin:
- 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster (standard)
- 10.5-inch or 12.9-inch infotainment screen
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Dual-level console with space for phones and gear
- New climate controls combining buttons and touchscreen
Voice control has been improved for natural interaction. Plug-in models also get better charge ports and quicker AC charging.
Safety and Software Upgrades
The 2026 RAV4 is the first to debut Toyota Safety Sense 4.0. Details are coming, but expect advanced driver assists to remain standard.
It also uses Toyota’s new Arene software platform. This allows over-the-air updates for features and infotainment, keeping things fresh long after purchase.
Pricing and Release
Toyota says the 2026 RAV4 will arrive late 2025. Expect a starting price of around $35,000, with higher trims like the GR Sport reaching $50,000.
