Shanghai Auto Show 2025: Futuristic Cars

Shanghai Auto Show 2025

Shanghai Auto Show 2025: The future has arrived, and it’s louder, faster, and smarter than ever before. Auto Shanghai 2025 stunned visitors with vehicles that pushed every boundary. From floating SUVs to electric 911 fighters, this show wasn’t just about cars — it was about reimagining what cars could be.

The New Motorama Moment

Back in the 1950s, Americans flocked to Motorama shows to glimpse futuristic vehicles. Today, the world looks to China. Auto Shanghai 2025 turned the National Exhibition and Convention Center into a showcase of dazzling innovation.

Visitors walked over 7.5 miles through displays from brands both old and new. While names like Audi, BMW, and Toyota made appearances, they almost seemed like guests at someone else’s party. China’s rising stars — Jetour, Arcfox, Avatr, Luxeed — stole the spotlight.

Highlights From the Show

Jetour G900:
Forget boats — the G900 floats and drives. Jetour’s upcoming SUV will use dual turbine propulsion units to glide across water. Steering is achieved by adjusting thrust on each side.

Denza Z:
A direct Porsche 911 rival. With around 1,000 horsepower and motors driving all four wheels, the Denza Z blends luxury and blistering speed.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra:
This Chinese-built super sedan broke Nürburgring EV records. Its 1,526-hp tri-motor setup blasts it to 60 mph in under 2 seconds.

Jetour F700:
An electric full-size pickup concept aimed squarely at brands like Toyota and Nissan. Featuring two electric motors, air suspension, and serious off-road chops.

Brabus Smart #5:
Chunky, fast, and all-electric. This 630-hp SUV, built through a Mercedes-Geely partnership, offers 320 miles of range and sub-4-second 0-60 mph speed.

iCar V23:
Not an Apple product! This electric vehicle plays on vintage Toyota looks but is designed for urban jungles, with lots of color and style options.

Audi E5:
Confused? You’re not alone. Audi launched a China-only sub-brand called “AUDI” (yes, all caps), ditching the traditional four-ring logo for this new EV platform.

Luxeed S7 and R7:
Huawei, the tech giant, now sells cars. Their Luxeed line, built with Chery, offers luxury sedans and SUVs, supported by smart software and advanced UI.

Buick Electra:
Buick’s new Electra sedan and SUV were previewed in Shanghai. They will offer EV, PHEV, and extended range options when production begins in late 2025.

China’s New Edge

Chinese automakers now offer world-class quality, leading-edge technology, and aggressive pricing. While some still struggle with ride dynamics and software polish, the progress is undeniable.

Legacy brands must innovate faster — or risk being left behind.

Auto Shanghai 2025 showed that “China Speed” is no myth. It’s the new normal.
